Agricultural Commission
The Agricultural Commission supports and promotes agriculture in Bridgewater and works to preserve the Town’s agricultural resources while encouraging a sustainable agricultural community.
Composition
The Agricultural Commission is a three (3) member board. The Commission develops a work plan to guide its activities and priorities.
Purpose & Responsibilities
The Agricultural Commission’s activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Serving as facilitators to encourage the pursuit of agriculture in Bridgewater
- Promoting agricultural-based economic opportunities within the Town
- Acting as mediators, advocates, educators, and negotiators on farming-related issues
- Working toward the preservation of prime agricultural lands
- Pursuing initiatives that support the creation of a sustainable agricultural community
The Agricultural Commission is an advisory and ministerial committee of the Town.
