About the Cable Advisory Committee

The Cable Advisory Committee advises the Town Manager on matters relating to cable television services in the Town of Bridgewater, including licensing, contract compliance, and subscriber concerns.

Purpose & Authority

The Cable Advisory Committee advises the Town Manager on matters relating to the licensing and supervision of cable television services in the Town, consistent with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 166A.

Consistent with the cable television contract, the Town Manager may authorize the Committee to act as the Issuing Authority solely to receive subscriber complaints.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource for resident complaints and suggestions regarding cable television services.
• Refer subscriber complaints to the cable operator for appropriate resolution under the direction of the Town Manager.
• Review cable contract compliance.
• Advise the Town Manager on licensing and other cable-related matters.
• Meet at least once each quarter to carry out the Committee’s responsibilities.

The Cable Advisory Committee serves as an advisory committee of the Town.
