Cable Advisory Committee

The Cable Advisory Committee advises the Town Manager on matters relating to cable television services in the Town of Bridgewater, including licensing, contract compliance, and subscriber concerns.

Purpose & Authority

The Cable Advisory Committee is a three (3) member committee that advises the Town Manager on matters relating to the licensing and supervision of the cable television services contract in the Town, consistent with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 166A.

Consistent with the cable television contract, the Town Manager may authorize the Committee to act as the Issuing Authority solely for the purpose of receiving subscriber complaints.

Responsibilities

The Committee serves as a sounding board for citizen complaints and suggestions regarding cable television services. Under the direction of the Town Manager, the Committee refers subscriber complaints to the cable operator for appropriate resolution.

The Committee meets at least once each quarter to review cable contract compliance and advise on other licensing and cable-related matters.

The Cable Advisory Committee is an advisory committee of the Town.
