About the Conant Trusts Fund Committee

The Conant Trusts Fund Committee administers trust funds established for the benefit of the Town of Bridgewater in accordance with the terms of historic trust agreements.

Purpose & Authority

The Conant Trusts Fund Committee was formed to administer funds held under Indentures of Trust dated June 4, 1925, as amended, between William H. Conant and the Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Company, as well as a separate trust established under the will of William A. Conant dated December 31, 1937.

The Committee has broad authority, within the provisions of the applicable trust agreements, to use both trust income and principal. The Committee may also receive gifts of real or personal property in the name of the Town of Bridgewater and manage those gifts in accordance with the trust documents.

Committee Structure

The Conant Trusts Fund Committee consists of five members serving staggered five-year terms.

The Committee serves as an advisory, regulatory, and ministerial committee of the Town.
