TOWN OF BRIDGEWATER DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS BRIDGEWATER, MASSACHUSETTS AVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for the renovation and improvement of the “Town of Bridgewater, Great Hill Water Tower Improvements Project” will be received by the Department of Public Works at their office located at, 25 South Street, Bridgewater, MA 02324 until 1:00 p.m. local time on September 12th, 2024, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. Sealed Bids must have the outer envelope marked as “Town of Bridgewater, Great Hill Water Tower Improvements Project”.
The work consists of the removal and disposal of all desecrated and spalled concrete from the base collar supporting the water tank and re-pouring the removed portions of the concrete collar with new concrete. A new concrete splash pad and energy dissipation structure is to be constructed at the overflow pipe discharge location. Insect screens are to be installed at the opening of the overflow discharge pipe and all labor, equipment and materials required for or incidental to the Work shall be furnished by the contractor. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis as indicated on the Bid Form.
All Bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended.
Bid Documents will be available on August 14, 2024. Copies of the Bid Documents may be obtained electronically for bid submission purposes by emailing the Department of Public Works at dpwbids@bridgewaterma.org. To be deemed properly submitted, all registered bidders must follow the bid submission procedure listed herein below. All questions relating to the bid documents and specifications must also be directed to this e-mail address by 4:00 PM August 28, 2024. Responses to all questions received will be compiled and e-mailed to all registered bidders by 4:00 PM on September 4, 2024. Addenda will be emailed to registered bidders. Failure to not acknowledge addenda may result in a bid rejection.
A mandatory Pre-Bid Site Visit at the Great Hill Water Tower (240 R Burrill Avenue Extension Bridgewater, MA) shall be held on August 23, 2024 at 8:00 AM. Failure to attend this Pre-Bid Site Visit will result in bid disqualification.
All bids must be based on printed hard copies of the Bid Documents obtained from the Bridgewater DPW Office located at 25 South Street, Bridgewater, MA 02324 or the email address referenced above. A bid document deposit of $100.00, shall be furnished in the form of a check made payable to the Town of Bridgewater by all registered bidders requesting a hard copy of the bid documents. The bid document deposit shall be refunded to the registered bidders who return the bid documents in good condition on or before the bid opening. No electronic bids will be accepted.
Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Contractor, before Bid opening, to request, if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed Work under this Contract.
