Municipal Aggregation Information
The Town of Bridgewater is pleased to announce that Dynegy Energy Services has been selected as the supplier for its Community Choice Power Supply Program. Dynegy will provide electric power supply for consumers currently on National Grid Basic Service in Bridgewater.
This agreement is in conjunction with Colonial Power Group.
Program Background
Following the approval of Order O-FY23-052 by the Town Council in June 2023, the Town of Bridgewater developed and published its Aggregation Plan in compliance with Massachusetts law regarding municipal aggregation of electric consumers, M.G.L. c. 164, § 134. The Town Council approved the Plan in February 2024, and a power supply agreement was executed in September, with the agreement taking effect in December 2025.
What to Expect
Look for a Mailing
Residents should look for a mailing with the Town Seal containing information about the Program. National Grid Basic Service customers should receive a Consumer Notification Letter and Opt-Out Reply Card. Customers already enrolled with a third-party supplier should receive an informational postcard.
Automatic Enrollment
Basic Service consumers do not need to take any action to participate. Eligible customers will be automatically enrolled in the Program.
Opt Out of the Program
Customers who do not wish to participate may opt out by signing and returning the Opt-Out Reply Card, visiting Colonial Power Group, or calling Dynegy at (866) 220-5696. There is no charge to opt out and return to National Grid Basic Service.
Join the Program
Customers who wish to join may opt in through Colonial Power Group or call Dynegy at (866) 220-5696 and ask to be enrolled. Customers with another supplier should confirm whether any early termination fees or penalties apply.
Important Rate Notice
Basic Service rates change twice a year or more, depending on the rate class. As a result, the aggregation rate may not always be lower than the Basic Service rate. The goal of the aggregation is to deliver savings over the life of the Program against National Grid Basic Service; however, future savings cannot be guaranteed.
