Weekend Nor’easter: Storm Preparedness Information

graphics shape

With a period of strong winds and heavy rain expected to impact our area through the weekend, we encourage residents to take some time today to prepare.

Before conditions worsen:

• Secure outdoor furniture, decorations, trash barrels, and other loose items.
• Charge phones and other essential devices and prepare for the possibility of power outages.
• Check flashlights, batteries, and other emergency supplies.
• Make sure storm drains near your property are clear of leaves and debris, if it is safe to do so.
• Never approach a downed wire — always assume it is live.
• Check in on neighbors, particularly older residents and anyone who may need additional assistance.

To report an outage with National Grid: call 1-800-465-121 or report on their website Outage Reporting - National Grid

Town departments are monitoring the forecast and will provide updates as necessary throughout the storm.

Please use caution, stay informed, and take the opportunity to prepare before the strongest conditions arrive.
