DEIB Committee
The DEIB Committee supports the Town’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging by helping ensure that initiatives, policies, and procedures reflect these principles and foster a strong sense of belonging across the community.
Mission & Vision
The mission of the DEIB Committee is to ensure that all town initiatives, policies, and procedures demonstrate a commitment to centering principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging while serving as a driver of social change in the Town of Bridgewater. The vision is to foster an environment where all the people who live, work, and study in the Town of Bridgewater experience a strong sense of belonging, feel empowered to enact change, and have equitable opportunities to thrive.
Composition & Appointments
The committee shall consist of at least five (5) and no more than nine (9) members, with staggered three-year terms. The Town Manager, in appointing members, shall consider the following criteria: Traditionally underrepresented residents, including race, religion, sexual orientation, and identity; residents with specific training on foundational principles of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging; critical thinking skills; different occupational, educational, business, and community experience should also be represented.
