The Bridgewater Disability Commission addresses issues affecting people with disabilities in the Town of Bridgewater and supports accessibility and ADA compliance across Town facilities, programs, and services.

Mission Statement

The Bridgewater Disability Commission addresses issues affecting people with disabilities in the Town of Bridgewater. The Commission provides input on accessibility to Town facilities and properties and assists the Town in complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Responsibilities

• Research local issues affecting people with disabilities.
• Advise municipal officials and employees on compliance with state and federal laws and regulations affecting people with disabilities.
• Plan programs in coordination with state programs designed to assist people with disabilities.
• Review and make recommendations concerning Town policies, procedures, services, activities, and facilities as they affect people with disabilities.
• Provide information, referrals, guidance, and technical assistance to individuals, public agencies, businesses, and organizations on disability-related matters.

Commission Structure

The Disability Commission consists of five members.
