Encouragement to Vote

Bridgewater residents are ENCOURAGED to vote!! It is a privilege and right, fought for, guarded and treasured for over 200 years. Many in our past and those now in other countries have and do literally die for the privilege.

Please use your pen to influence and guide our Town. What better way to feel our unity and community than by being part of a treasured, American privilege?

Absentee Ballots

Deadlines:

The deadline to apply for Absentee Voting by mail is 5 business days before the Election

The deadline to vote Absentee in person is 12 p.m. on the day before the Election

 An Absentee Ballot application may be completed and submitted to the Town Clerk.  Submit on-line (e-mailed to townclerk@bridgewaterma.org), in person at the Town Clerk’s Office (66 Central Square) during business hours or by placing the application in the drop box by the handicap ramp at the side door of the Academy Building on the Bedford Street side. 

Upon receipt of the application, voter registration will be confirmed and, if the applicant is a voter registered in Bridgewater, a ballot will be mailed or the voter may vote in person at the Town Clerk's Office. If you are not sure of your voter registration status, check here.

Once received, the voter should vote the ballot, place it in the envelope provided, sign the envelope and return it to the Town Clerk’s Office.  Mailed Ballots may also be returned in person during business hours or safely placed in the drop box located near the handicap access in the Academy Building’s Bedford Street parking lot.  AV Ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day to be counted at the polls.
