Transportation Committee
The Transportation Committee serves as an advisory committee to the Town Manager on matters involving traffic, pedestrian safety, and transportation services throughout the Town of Bridgewater.
Committee Responsibilities
The Transportation Committee reviews transportation-related concerns and makes recommendations to the Town Manager regarding:
- Traffic safety improvements
- Pedestrian safety enhancements
- Transportation planning and related public safety issues
- Matters involving the Brockton Area Transit Authority (BAT)
- Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) services
- Taxi operations
- Private buses licensed to operate on public ways within Bridgewater
Committee Membership
The Transportation Committee consists of five members:
- Director of Public Works
- Police Chief or designee
- Fire Chief or designee
- Director of Community Planning & Economic Development
- One resident of the Town, appointed to a three-year term
Committee Role
The Transportation Committee serves in an advisory capacity and provides recommendations to the Town Manager to help improve transportation, mobility, and public safety for residents and visitors throughout Bridgewater.
