Veterans Council

The Veterans Council advocates for the needs of Bridgewater’s veterans, supports the Director of Veterans’ Services, and promotes the recognition and observance of patriotic holidays throughout the Town.

Purpose

The purpose of the Veterans Council is to advocate for meeting the needs of the veterans residing in the Town of Bridgewater and to provide support for the Director of Veterans’ Services.  The Veterans Council promotes the recognition and observance of all patriotic holidays, including, but not limited to: Memorial Day, Flag Day, the Fourth of July, and Veterans' Day.  The Veteran’s Council fosters an understanding and appreciation within the Town of the achievements, contributions, and sacrifices Veterans have made to Bridgewater, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the nation. The Veterans Council is an advisory committee to the Town.

Composition & Appointments

The Veteran’s Council consists of no fewer than five (5) and no greater than fifteen (15) members who serve three-year staggered terms.
