About the Veterans Council

The Veterans Council advocates for the needs of Bridgewater’s veterans, supports the Director of Veterans’ Services, and promotes the recognition and observance of patriotic holidays throughout the Town.

Purpose

The Veterans Council advocates for the needs of veterans residing in the Town of Bridgewater and provides support to the Director of Veterans’ Services.

The Council promotes the recognition and observance of patriotic holidays, including Memorial Day, Flag Day, the Fourth of July, and Veterans’ Day.

The Veterans Council also fosters understanding and appreciation within the Town for the achievements, contributions, and sacrifices veterans have made to Bridgewater, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the nation.

The Veterans Council serves as an advisory committee to the Town.

Council Structure & Appointments

The Veterans Council consists of no fewer than five members and no more than fifteen members, serving three-year staggered terms.
